PRP for hair loss is a type of hair restoration procedure that uses PRP, or platelet rich plasma, to trigger healthy hair growth in dormant or dying hair follicles. A sample of your blood is separated, and the PRP is placed over the affected area before a microneedling device is used to introduce the PRP into the scalp or injected directly. This is one of the best hair loss treatments Nigeria has to offer its hair loss patients.

What is PRP and how is it used for hair loss?

Platelet rich plasma is derived from your own blood and contains a high concentration of growth factors, healing compounds, and other naturally-occurring elements that trigger natural regeneration. When utilized during hair restoration procedures, PRP can inspire new hair growth in areas where your hair has begun to thin. This procedure has revolutionized hair restoration by reducing the need for surgical procedures and reinvigorating hair growth in a natural way with minimal downtime.

Am I a candidate?

Our PRP for hair loss treatment in Abuja is a versatile procedure, and many men and women with thinning hair can be candidates. It may be right for you if you have:

  • Loss of volume or areas of thinning
  • Low quality hair growth
  • Certain medical conditions like alopecia areata
  • Generally good health, free from blood disorders, skin conditions, or chronic skin infections

The early stages of hair loss are the best time to utilize PRP treatments. Once you have gone completely bald or have areas of baldness, PRP for hair loss may not be as effective for you.

What can I expect during PRP for hair loss?

Before treatment can begin, a small sample of your blood is drawn. The sample is spun in a centrifuge to isolate the growth factors and create a concentrated serum. Once the serum is purified, it is spread over the treatment areas. A microneedling device containing a grouping of tiny needles is used to push the PRP into the skin. The needles are so small that the treatment involves minimal discomfort. The microneedling portion typically takes less than an hour to complete based on the size of the area where you want healthy hair growth restored.

What is recovery like after PRP for hair loss?

The recovery after your PRP for hair loss treatment in Nigeria is very easy. You can go back to your regular work, exercise, and grooming routines within a few hours of treatment. Some redness or slight swelling may occur the same day but dissipates quickly. After a few days you can also color or perm your hair as usual. You may begin to notice new growth in the area approximately three to six months after your last treatment, which will continue to improve over time.

PRP for Hair Loss—Frequently Asked Questions

How many treatments will I need?

You may need three to six treatments depending on the degree to which your hair is thinning before treatment. You can also have maintenance treatments about twice a year to continually supply growth factors to the area.

Will I have visible scarring?

There is typically no visible scarring associated with microneedling. The needles used during the treatment are so thin that they create tiny channels, or micro-injuries, in the treated area without causing scar tissue to form.

What are the benefits of PRP for hair loss?

PRP for hair loss is non-surgical, resulting in little to no downtime. The results will look completely natural because the procedure simply reinvigorates natural, healthy hair growth in your existing hair follicles. There is typically no scarring associated with our PRP for hair loss treatment in Abuja, and you can get back to your daily routine right away.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19 View Update

We have you covered

Dearest Clients,

We are aware of the current activity of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 in the region.

Flawless Skin BY Abby leadership team is actively monitoring the Coronavirus situation.

We recognize the seriousness of COVID-19 and, to be clear, our sole concern is for your safety and the safety of our team members. As healthcare professionals, above all else, we must always be vigilant regarding public health.

Based on available data, it appears that the virus is not particularly harmful to younger and otherwise healthy people. While it is still too early to gauge the broader impact the virus will have in the Nigeria, we know that the virus is very contagious and can be transmitted during an asymptomatic phase.

Accordingly, we would like to offer 10 universal community precautions that should be employed to mitigate viral spread:

  1. No handshaking and avoid crowded spaces if possible.
  2. Use your elbow or knuckle to press elevator buttons, light switches, etc. Lift the gasoline dispenser with a paper towel or disposable gloves.
  3. Open doors with a closed fist or hip if possible.
  4. Wash your hands regularly for 10-20 seconds and/or use a greater than 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer whenever you return home.
  5. If possible cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue and discard. Use your elbow only if you have to.
  6. High dose (1000mg) vitamin C and zinc lozenges have been shown to boost immunity and thwart the spread of the viral pathogens.
  7. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  8. Should you decide to wear a mask, use one with a N95 designation and discard after one day.
  9. Practice other good health habits. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
  10. If you are sick - stay home.

Additionally, we want to minimize the risk of transmission in our facility while continuing to deliver great experiences to you, our clients.

Our commitment has always been to provide a pristine environment for our clients. To further ensure we are delivering on that promise, we will implement and/or continue to employ the following measures over the coming weeks:

  • We are ordering protective eyewear and face masks for all client facing providers (aestheticians, MAs, RNs, PAs, NPs, and MDs). Gloves will continue to be used.
  • Viricidal disinfectant wipes will continue to be used to clean all treatment rooms and door handles before and after every procedure or service.
  • Our providers will continue to wash their hands before and after every procedure or service.
  • Lobby areas will be cleaned by the front desk every thirty minutes.
  • Our teams will reserve the right to refuse service to any clients who are actively experiencing cold or flu symptoms. Cancellation fees will be waived.
  • Any team members with active cold or flu symptoms will not to come to work.

In the face of this unique challenge it is imperative that we all work together to promote safety while still enjoying our lives. If you have any questions regarding our policies please do not hesitate to contact the office via email or any of our hotlines – 08174913220, 08183201854.
