Youthful skin is characterized by being radiant, firm, and soft. As your face ages, these qualities become less and less, leading to lines, wrinkles, and creases. Environmental damage from the sun and pollution can cause spots to form while the natural pull of gravity creates a droopy, older look. Over the years, it can be more and more difficult to maintain the vibrant skin you once enjoyed. At Flawless Skin by Abby, we are thrilled to bring you among the top microneedling in Nigeria to boost your skin’s natural glow from the inside out.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also referred to as collagen induction therapy, uses a hand-held applicator that has a series of very small needles. As it rolls over your skin, the needles puncture the skin causing a series of micro-channels in the facial skin. These tiny channels cause your body to call on its own healing properties, increasing your production of collagen and elastin to provide volume, fullness, and radiance.

How Does Microneedling Work?

When you create a series of small channels on the facial skin, your skin is stimulated to produce fresh, new skin cells. The new tissue is rich in collagen, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, diminishing the appearance of scars, and evening texture and tone. What’s more, your increased production of collagen will add volume and fullness. You’re left with skin that positively glows, with a significant boost to your self-confidence! Contact Flawless Skin by Abby for some of the best microneedling in Abuja.

What are the Benefits of Microneedling?

Microneedling isn’t just for the face. It can also be used on the neck, chest, back, and the back of your hands to reduce the visible signs of aging. Microneedling can be used to treat a variety of skincare concerns including:

  • Uneven tone and texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Areas of skin laxity
  • Sun spots or age spots
  • Stretch marks or acne scars

What Can I Expect During Microneedling?

Microneedling treatments are performed in our luxurious Nigeria facilities. It is necessary that you cease use of all retinols, acids, exfoliants, or other chemical treatments at least three days before your microneedling session. A topical anesthetic will be applied, allowing you to be comfortable during your procedure. The microneedling pen will be passed over the surface of your skin, creating a series of tiny pricks. Your technician will move the pen evenly over your skin, allowing uniform treatment, followed by skin-restoring serums that can now enter the skin and get to work. Treatment typically takes approximately 30 minutes.

What is the Recovery from Microneedling Like?

You can expect mild to moderate swelling, irritation, and redness for the first 24 hours following your microneedling session. Most patients compare it to that of a sunburn. In the following days, your skin may flake or peel as it begins to renew itself. You should avoid exercise for 12 hours following your treatment and may resume wearing makeup after 24 hours. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve optimal results. You should see a more youthful glow to your complexion within a couple weeks of treatment.

Microneedling—Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any risks associated with microneedling?

Risks associated with microneedling are quite minor but can include bruising, swelling, or bleeding. Always ensure this treatment is performed at a top-rated skincare clinic to avoid the risk of complications.

Can I combine other therapies or treatments with microneedling?

Yes, especially PRP or hyaluronic acid as their absorption into the skin is significantly increased when combined with microneedling.

What kind of skincare routine should I use after microneedling?

There should be no exfoliating, scrubbing or stress on the skin after microneedling. Specific soothing creams can be suggested and used during the first week to help the skin heal, but most other skincare products should be avoided. Allow the skin to heal naturally without interference, especially during the first few days.

How long does new tissue formation continue for after microneedling?

After the first few sessions of microneedling, especially when combined with PRP or other skin-boosting products, you may see new tissue formation for up to a year after treatment. This will be observable as firmer and more elastic skin, with a softer, more youthful glow.

How many treatments should I get for optimum results?

This depends on your skin quality or skin conditions that you are trying to address but generally somewhere between three to six treatments should be scheduled with about a month or more in between sessions to allow the skin time to heal. After the initial sessions then you may want to schedule treatments once or twice a year to maintain results.

Is microneedling painful?

Microneedling is not generally considered painful although there may be some slight discomfort during the treatment. There is usually a numbing cream or solution applied prior to the microneedling treatment which makes it more comfortable. Also it is a fairly quick and easy procedure.

What is the cost of microneedling?

The cost of microneedling in Abuja varies depending on what is best for you. We encourage you to call to speak with our experienced staff to find out more about our microneedling treatment and pricing: 0817-491-3220.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19 View Update

We have you covered

Dearest Clients,

We are aware of the current activity of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 in the region.

Flawless Skin BY Abby leadership team is actively monitoring the Coronavirus situation.

We recognize the seriousness of COVID-19 and, to be clear, our sole concern is for your safety and the safety of our team members. As healthcare professionals, above all else, we must always be vigilant regarding public health.

Based on available data, it appears that the virus is not particularly harmful to younger and otherwise healthy people. While it is still too early to gauge the broader impact the virus will have in the Nigeria, we know that the virus is very contagious and can be transmitted during an asymptomatic phase.

Accordingly, we would like to offer 10 universal community precautions that should be employed to mitigate viral spread:

  1. No handshaking and avoid crowded spaces if possible.
  2. Use your elbow or knuckle to press elevator buttons, light switches, etc. Lift the gasoline dispenser with a paper towel or disposable gloves.
  3. Open doors with a closed fist or hip if possible.
  4. Wash your hands regularly for 10-20 seconds and/or use a greater than 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer whenever you return home.
  5. If possible cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue and discard. Use your elbow only if you have to.
  6. High dose (1000mg) vitamin C and zinc lozenges have been shown to boost immunity and thwart the spread of the viral pathogens.
  7. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  8. Should you decide to wear a mask, use one with a N95 designation and discard after one day.
  9. Practice other good health habits. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
  10. If you are sick - stay home.

Additionally, we want to minimize the risk of transmission in our facility while continuing to deliver great experiences to you, our clients.

Our commitment has always been to provide a pristine environment for our clients. To further ensure we are delivering on that promise, we will implement and/or continue to employ the following measures over the coming weeks:

  • We are ordering protective eyewear and face masks for all client facing providers (aestheticians, MAs, RNs, PAs, NPs, and MDs). Gloves will continue to be used.
  • Viricidal disinfectant wipes will continue to be used to clean all treatment rooms and door handles before and after every procedure or service.
  • Our providers will continue to wash their hands before and after every procedure or service.
  • Lobby areas will be cleaned by the front desk every thirty minutes.
  • Our teams will reserve the right to refuse service to any clients who are actively experiencing cold or flu symptoms. Cancellation fees will be waived.
  • Any team members with active cold or flu symptoms will not to come to work.

In the face of this unique challenge it is imperative that we all work together to promote safety while still enjoying our lives. If you have any questions regarding our policies please do not hesitate to contact the office via email or any of our hotlines – 08174913220, 08183201854.

Thank you,
