Hyperhydrosis or Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a condition that can affect localized areas of the body, such as the armpits or palms, or the body overall. Hyperhidrosis is when the body produces more sweat than is necessary to control your internal temperature. It can be the result of endocrine issues, menopause, emotional issues, or a symptom of a disease or condition. Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that can be managed with custom treatments, including:

  • Botulinum toxin type A injections such as BOTOX
  • Oral medications such as anticholinergics
  • Antiperspirant creams
  • Laser treatment
  • Surgery

At Flawless Skin by Abby, we can treat hyperhidrosis with BOTOX injections into the affected areas. These injections inhibit the nerve impulses connected with excessive sweating.

Armpits: Axillary

Many people suffer from localized hyperhidrosis in the armpits without realizing that it is a treatable medical condition. For many people, excessive sweating affects many areas of life, including:

  • What they wear
  • Their self-confidence
  • Productivity at work
  • Their social or intimate life

If you experience excessive sweating in your armpits regularly, then you might be a candidate for treatment with BOTOX. Schedule a consultation to see if we can help you with your hyperhidrosis so that you can be free of the stress and discomfort of excessive sweating. Results from treatment with BOTOX for hyperhidrosis last between six to twelve months.

Palms: Palmaris

If you find that your palms sweat while you are at rest, even in a cool, temperature-controlled environment, then you may have hyperhidrosis of the palms. This condition can be treated with the use of BOTOX injections into specific points on the palms. BOTOX serves to block impulses to the nerves that activate your sweat glands. If you experience chronic sweating of the palms to the point where they are dripping, then you are likely a candidate for treatment with BOTOX. The results from BOTOX treatments for hyperhidrosis last between six to twelve months and can significantly reduce excessively sweaty palms.

Soles of the feet: Plantaria

Excessive sweating on the soles of your feet can be a source of embarrassment. Hyperhidrosis on the soles of your feet can affect:

  • The kind of shoes you wear
  • Your self-confidence, especially if the excessive sweating causes an unpleasant smell
  • The types of activities you engage in

When the sweat glands are overactive, BOTOX can be an excellent treatment, significantly reducing sweating on the soles of your feet. This treatment can last between six to twelve months and can be repeated as needed to maintain long-term results. Schedule a consultation with a member of our team at Flawless Skin by Abby to see how we can help you with hyperhidrosis.

Chronic migraines are a source of chronic pain and fatigue. They can detract from your ability to work and enjoy life. To be considered as a potential candidate for treatment with BOTOX for migraines, you should have the following characteristics:

  • You have a history of migraines
  • You experience headaches often, either tension headaches or migraines

BOTOX for headaches may not work as a treatment unless you suffer from frequent or chronic headaches that are either migraines or tension headaches. The BOTOX treatment is thought to help to alleviate the symptoms of migraine headaches by blocking neurotransmitters that deliver pain signals. Results achieved by BOTOX have been proven to reduce the number and severity of headaches and migraines. Schedule a consultation with us to see if BOTOX is the right treatment to help you get real relief from chronic migraines.

What Should I Expect with BOTOX Treatments?

Treatments are well tolerated by most people. If you are particularly sensitive, you may request that a topical numbing cream be applied in advance of the procedure. Your doctor will inject small amounts of BOTOX into the muscle in the treatment areas.

The procedure can be performed in a few minutes. After the injections, the signal from the brain to the muscles is blocked. The muscle can no longer contract, which causes wrinkles to relax and soften and helps prevent new wrinkles from forming.

What Is Recovery Like after BOTOX?

You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. It is important that you don’t rub or massage the treated areas, as this could cause the BOTOX to migrate. You may experience mild side effects for a few hours, which may include tingling, numbness, swelling, or bruising around the injection sites.

Our trained professionals perform some of the best BOTOX Abuja has to offer to reduce the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. Here, we provide answers to commonly asked questions about BOTOX Cosmetic.

How Soon Will I See Results after BOTOX Injections?

Most people see results within one or two days after treatment. Softening of moderate to severe frown lines can last up to four months.

How Much Does Botox Cost?

The cost of Botox in Abuja varies depending on what is best for you. We encourage you to call to speak with our experienced staff to find out more about our Botox treatment and pricing: 0817-491-3220.

How Long Do BOTOX Injections Last?

Results of our BOTOX in Abuja can last approximately three to four months. With continued treatment, the muscles become accustomed to relaxation, reducing the occurrence of lines and wrinkles.

Do BOTOX Injections Hurt?

Injections with BOTOX are reported to feel like a pinch. Although treatment is easily tolerated by many people, you have the option to request ice or topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area before injections are performed.

How Many Injections Will I Need?

We custom-tailor BOTOX treatments to your unique needs and aesthetic goals. When you meet with us in a consultation, we can design a treatment plan for the areas you want to address. For example, treating crow’s feet requires injections in three areas of the muscle that frames the side of the eye, in each eye.

How Much Downtime Will I Need after BOTOX Treatments?

Most patients experience very little if any bruising with BOTOX. Although the skin may be slightly red for an hour or two, many people return to work immediately after this “lunchtime” procedure. We do recommend that you refrain from strenuous exercise or consuming alcohol for 24 hours after BOTOX injections.

How Safe is BOTOX?

Made by Allergen, Inc., BOTOX is a safe, NAFDAC-approved treatment with a 20-year track record. With millions of treatments performed year after year, the safety of this product has been well established.

Will BOTOX Make Me Look Numb or Frozen?

No. BOTOX treatments do not affect the nerves that cause sensation or create numbness. It is important to receive treatment from an experienced practitioner who understands how much BOTOX to administer to achieve the desired effect.

Can BOTOX Treatment Help Prevent Wrinkles?

Yes. BOTOX injections temporarily slow and relax the muscles that normally contract hundreds of times per day, causing wrinkles in the skin. Our treatments of BOTOX in Abuja can reduce existing wrinkles and help prevent new lines from forming.

What Are the Benefits of BOTOX?

BOTOX is a popular cosmetic procedure for a reason. BOTOX injections at Flawless Skin by Abby can:

  • Make your skin smoother
  • Help prevent future wrinkles from forming
  • Turn back the clock on your facial appearance.

One advantage of this treatment is the more often you have BOTOX injections, the less product you will need over time as the muscles become accustomed to relaxation.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19 View Update

We have you covered

Dearest Clients,

We are aware of the current activity of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 in the region.

Flawless Skin BY Abby leadership team is actively monitoring the Coronavirus situation.

We recognize the seriousness of COVID-19 and, to be clear, our sole concern is for your safety and the safety of our team members. As healthcare professionals, above all else, we must always be vigilant regarding public health.

Based on available data, it appears that the virus is not particularly harmful to younger and otherwise healthy people. While it is still too early to gauge the broader impact the virus will have in the Nigeria, we know that the virus is very contagious and can be transmitted during an asymptomatic phase.

Accordingly, we would like to offer 10 universal community precautions that should be employed to mitigate viral spread:

  1. No handshaking and avoid crowded spaces if possible.
  2. Use your elbow or knuckle to press elevator buttons, light switches, etc. Lift the gasoline dispenser with a paper towel or disposable gloves.
  3. Open doors with a closed fist or hip if possible.
  4. Wash your hands regularly for 10-20 seconds and/or use a greater than 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer whenever you return home.
  5. If possible cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue and discard. Use your elbow only if you have to.
  6. High dose (1000mg) vitamin C and zinc lozenges have been shown to boost immunity and thwart the spread of the viral pathogens.
  7. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  8. Should you decide to wear a mask, use one with a N95 designation and discard after one day.
  9. Practice other good health habits. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
  10. If you are sick - stay home.

Additionally, we want to minimize the risk of transmission in our facility while continuing to deliver great experiences to you, our clients.

Our commitment has always been to provide a pristine environment for our clients. To further ensure we are delivering on that promise, we will implement and/or continue to employ the following measures over the coming weeks:

  • We are ordering protective eyewear and face masks for all client facing providers (aestheticians, MAs, RNs, PAs, NPs, and MDs). Gloves will continue to be used.
  • Viricidal disinfectant wipes will continue to be used to clean all treatment rooms and door handles before and after every procedure or service.
  • Our providers will continue to wash their hands before and after every procedure or service.
  • Lobby areas will be cleaned by the front desk every thirty minutes.
  • Our teams will reserve the right to refuse service to any clients who are actively experiencing cold or flu symptoms. Cancellation fees will be waived.
  • Any team members with active cold or flu symptoms will not to come to work.

In the face of this unique challenge it is imperative that we all work together to promote safety while still enjoying our lives. If you have any questions regarding our policies please do not hesitate to contact the office via email or any of our hotlines – 08174913220, 08183201854.

Thank you,
