As you begin to age, some less-than-desirable effects begin to appear on your face. Fine lines and wrinkles, loss of volume, skin laxity, sun spots and age spots, and dull, uneven skin tone can leave you looking older than you feel. If you are ready to restore the appearance of fresh, luminous skin without an invasive treatment, Flawless Skin by Abby delivers some of the best PRP injections Nigeria has available. Platelet rich plasma is a regenerative treatment that works from within.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma?

Platelet rich plasma, or PRP, is created using a vial of your own blood (just like a blood test). Once the blood is taken from your body, it is placed in a centrifuge where it is spun at high speeds to separate the red blood cells from the platelets and plasma. The remaining PRP is rich in proteins and growth factors which stimulate new cell growth, promote healing, and trigger natural skin revitalization.

How is Platelet Rich Plasma Used?

PRP is used in conjunction with microneedling to enhance its skin-beautifying results. Microneedling is performed to create micro-channels through which the PRP can enter the deeper layers. The tiny needles create small pin pricks, stimulating your immune system to come to the rescue and repair the area, naturally.

This also stimulates your own natural production of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of the skin. PRP further enhances this healing process of your skin through its proteins and growth factors, encouraging new cell growth and plumping the skin in the process.

In addition to the above, PRP is also used in several other ways to provide beautification and overall rejuvenation:

  • Injections for wrinkles and fine lines
  • Hair restoration
  • General facial rejuvenation
  • O-Shot—provides increased sex drive, increases ability to orgasm, decreases urinary incontinence, and many other benefits

What are the Benefits of Platelet Rich Plasma?

This state-of-the-art treatment can treat a variety of skincare concerns including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin laxity
  • Dull or uneven skin tone
  • Horizontal neck lines
  • The appearance of sun spots or age spots
  • Visible scars

What Can I Expect During my Platelet Rich Plasma Injections?

Our PRP injections in Nigeria are a quick, easy procedure that is performed in the comfort of our world-class facility. A topical numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area in order to allow you to be comfortable during the procedure. Then, a vial of blood will be drawn so we may create the PRP used in your facial. The microneedling will be performed and the PRP massaged deep into the layers of your skin. Additional PRP may be injected into certain areas to add increased rejuvenation.

What is Recovery Like Following a Platelet Rich Plasma Facial?

You may experience redness and swelling at the treatment area, similar to that of a sunburn. This should subside within 24 hours of your PRP facial. You should take great care to avoid the sun’s harmful UV rays and apply proper sun protection in the days and weeks following your PRP facial. Since a PRP facial is only minimally invasive, you may return to your normal activities as soon as the procedure is complete. In the coming days and weeks, your skin will appear firmer, more radiant, and more youthful.

Platelet Rich Plasma—Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of results can I expect from PRP therapy?

Results from PRP can vary widely as it uses your own growth factors to regenerate your skin or other tissues. Generally, the results can be remarkable; the natural healing abilities are stimulated. When used with microneedling you can achieve firmer and healthier skin.

Does it hurt?

A numbing cream or topical anesthetic is used to minimize pain and discomfort during the procedure, whether a combination with microneedling, for hair restoration, or to trigger natural skin rejuvenation.

Who is a good candidate for PRP cosmetic therapy?

The use of PRP is something that practically anyone could use, as your own blood is used – without risk of rejection of synthetic substances. The results can vary, based upon your genetics and healing ability. This treatment is great for people who wish to reduce the appearance of scars or who have darker skin and are unable to receive laser treatments for some skin conditions.

Is there a possibility of an allergic reaction?

There is no possibility of an allergic reaction to the PRP as it is from your own body, but any additives or other aspects, such as the anesthetic used could trigger an allergic reaction. This can be discussed with our team prior to treatment so that complications can be avoided.

Will multiple treatments be necessary to see results?

Some people may require more treatments than others to achieve the results they want. Every person heals differently and the PRP derived from their body can deliver varying amounts of the critical growth factors. Multiple treatments are often necessary to truly stimulate the healing process and boosted collagen production that can be achieved with PRP therapy.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19 View Update

We have you covered

Dearest Clients,

We are aware of the current activity of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 in the region.

Flawless Skin BY Abby leadership team is actively monitoring the Coronavirus situation.

We recognize the seriousness of COVID-19 and, to be clear, our sole concern is for your safety and the safety of our team members. As healthcare professionals, above all else, we must always be vigilant regarding public health.

Based on available data, it appears that the virus is not particularly harmful to younger and otherwise healthy people. While it is still too early to gauge the broader impact the virus will have in the Nigeria, we know that the virus is very contagious and can be transmitted during an asymptomatic phase.

Accordingly, we would like to offer 10 universal community precautions that should be employed to mitigate viral spread:

  1. No handshaking and avoid crowded spaces if possible.
  2. Use your elbow or knuckle to press elevator buttons, light switches, etc. Lift the gasoline dispenser with a paper towel or disposable gloves.
  3. Open doors with a closed fist or hip if possible.
  4. Wash your hands regularly for 10-20 seconds and/or use a greater than 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer whenever you return home.
  5. If possible cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue and discard. Use your elbow only if you have to.
  6. High dose (1000mg) vitamin C and zinc lozenges have been shown to boost immunity and thwart the spread of the viral pathogens.
  7. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  8. Should you decide to wear a mask, use one with a N95 designation and discard after one day.
  9. Practice other good health habits. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
  10. If you are sick - stay home.

Additionally, we want to minimize the risk of transmission in our facility while continuing to deliver great experiences to you, our clients.

Our commitment has always been to provide a pristine environment for our clients. To further ensure we are delivering on that promise, we will implement and/or continue to employ the following measures over the coming weeks:

  • We are ordering protective eyewear and face masks for all client facing providers (aestheticians, MAs, RNs, PAs, NPs, and MDs). Gloves will continue to be used.
  • Viricidal disinfectant wipes will continue to be used to clean all treatment rooms and door handles before and after every procedure or service.
  • Our providers will continue to wash their hands before and after every procedure or service.
  • Lobby areas will be cleaned by the front desk every thirty minutes.
  • Our teams will reserve the right to refuse service to any clients who are actively experiencing cold or flu symptoms. Cancellation fees will be waived.
  • Any team members with active cold or flu symptoms will not to come to work.

In the face of this unique challenge it is imperative that we all work together to promote safety while still enjoying our lives. If you have any questions regarding our policies please do not hesitate to contact the office via email or any of our hotlines – 08174913220, 08183201854.

Thank you,

Abimbola Bakare Founder/CEO
